Eligibility Criteria for TNBRD Vacancy 2018:
Educational Qualification:
- Senior Scientist & Head -Essential: a) For Disciplines other than Engineering subject Doctoral degree in Agriculture subject including relevant basic science with 8 years experience in the relevant subject as Scientist / Lecturer/ Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the Pay band-3 of Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400/ Rs.6000/Rs.7000/Rs.8000 equivalent or more remuneration whichever is applicable having made contribution to research/ teaching / extension education as evidenced by published work / innovations and impact. OR Doctoral degree in the relevant subject including relevant basic sciences with minimum 8 years’ experience of high quality postdoctoral research in an institution / organization as evidenced by at least 6 publications in journals with NAAS rating of 7.5 or above
- SMS (Animal Science) -Essential: Master’s degree in Veterinary Science / Animal Science (specialization in Livestock Production & Management / Poultry / Dairy Science / Veterinary Extension) or Equivalent qualifications from a recognized University. Desirable: 1. Two years experience in KVK/Extension Education Projects activities from a reputed institution or firm. 2. Working knowledge of computer.
- SMS (Agricultural Engineering) -Essential: Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering (specialization in Farm Machinery / Irrigation Water Management & Resources Engineering / Soil & Water conservation) or Equivalent qualifications from a recognized University. Desirable: 1. Two years experience in KVK/Extension Education Projects activities from a reputed institution or firm. 2. Working knowledge of computer.
- Programme Assistant (Lab Technician)- Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or equivalent qualification from a recognized University. Desirable: 1. Working experience in Soil & Water testing laboratory (or) 2. One year experience in KVK/Extension Education Projects activities from a reputed institution or firm. 3. Working knowledge of computer
- Programme Assistant (Farm Manager) -Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or equivalent qualification from a recognized University. Desirable: 1. One year experience in KVK/ Farm/ Extension Education Projects activities from a reputed institution or firm. 2. Working knowledge of computer
- Programme Assistant (Computer)- Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Application or equivalent qualifications from a recognized University Desirable: 1. Working experience in areas related to Database management, Web portal management.
- Assistant (Office) -Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from a recognized University with working knowledge of Computers. Desirable: Working experience in relevant field.
- Stenographer (Grade-III) -Essential: 12th class pass or equivalent from Recognized Board/University. Professional Efficiency: The candidates will be given one dictation test in English or Hindi at 80 w.p.m. for 10 minutes. The candidates who opt to take the test in English will be required to transcribe the matter in 50 minutes on computer and the candidates who opt to take the test in Hindi will be required to transcribe the matter in 65 minutes on computer.
- Driver (Jeep)- Essential: (i) Matriculation pass qualification from a recognized Board. (ii) Possession of a valid and appropriate driving license from prescribed Govt. Authority (the candidate will have to pass the practical skill test to be taken by an appropriate committee). Desirable: One year trade certificate in the relevant field from ITI: or Experience of driving in a recognized Institution or Experience of motor mechanic work.

(b) 35 years for post of Subject Matter Specialist (Sl. No. 02 & 03)

(d) 18 – 27 years for post of Assistant / Stenographer / Driver (Sl. No. 07, 08 & 09)
The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules. Application form must accompany with a Bank Draft of Rs.200/- (SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities are exempted) drawn in favour of “TAMIL NADU BOARD OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT, CHENNAI” payable at Chennai, failing which the application will be rejected No other means of payment. The date of Bank draft should not be prior to the date of issue of the advertisement and the same should be valid for a period of three months. Candidate mush writes his/her name on the back side of the Bank Draft.
